Former Nigeria international, Onyekachi Okonkwo, was sent off in his club, Mosta 0-3 defeat to Birkirkara in the Maltese Premier League on Saturday.
Okonkwo was named in Mosta’s starting lineup alongside Osa Guobadia, while Ini Etim Akpan was handed a rare start for Birkirkara due to unavailability of first choice goalkeeper, Justin Haber, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The ex- Orlando Pirates star Okonkwo was first yellow – carded before his dismissal in his 67th minute.
He made his fifth appearance for Mosta since he joined the club as a free agent last month.
He opened his account for his new employer in the 3 – 1 victory over St Andrews on December 6.
