The leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council worldwide has flayed the accusation that Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha has hijacked the Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
In a statement yesterday, the group’s President, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, said he never granted any interview on Okorocha and wondered where the report emanated from.
“There was never a time that I, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro made such a statement and at no time did I speak to the correspondent who carried the story to that effect.It was a figment of his imagination.
“ It’s pure jungle journalism geared towards ruffling feathers and causing disaffection in Igboland. It’s a grand design by enemies of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council to create tension and confusion in the polity.
“Our own Owelle Ndigbo Rochas Okorocha is like a father to me and he is building a befitting secretariat for Ndigbo at the Ohanaeze Ndigbo National Headquarters for which the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council has severally lauded him . We could not at the same time speak from both sides of the mouth by insinuating that his magnamimous act was for a non-existent grandplan to hijack Ohanaeze Ndigbo.”
