The 79/84 set Coordinator of the St John’s Old Boys Association (SJOBA), Prince Adewuyi Adetogun, has been elected the National President of the alumni association.
He got the seat unopposed, a testimony to his widespread acceptability across all class sets of old boys of the school, established by a Canadian Catholic Priest Fr. Fabian Cloutier in January 1962 in Ile Ife,Osun State.
Elected along with Adetogun to lead the association for the next two years are; Awoyemi Olatunde, the First National Vice President, Olaoluwa Omifare, the Second National Vice President. and Adebisi Obawole as third Vice National President which covers the United Kingdom and the entire Europe, while the fourth Vice President, Sam Oludunfe’s tenure is still running. Other elected officials of the Association and the National Secretary, is Oyesakin Babatunde, Assistant Secretary, Omidiora Gbolahan Emmanuel, National Treasurer, Adedire Joseph, Public Relations Officer, Awodirepo Samuel Akinlooye, Social Secretary, Shobowale Oluwasanjo Ayowumi and Financial Secretary, Akintilebo Olawale Festus.
Adetogun was until his election, was the coordinator of the 79/84 set, and under his leadership, the set had refurbished the school library (furnished with furniture and text books), a 500KVA electricity transformer that serves the school and the entire Oke Atan Community and only recently, completed and handed over a multi-million naira road project named after the School’s patron Saint and founder, Fr. Cloutier, among other landmark projects.
