The Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Dr. Hameed Adekunle Oyelude, CON, Tegbosun III, has congratulated former President Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo on his 88th birthday, describing him as a “rare breed” whose leadership contributed to Nigeria’s economic growth.
In a personally signed statement, Oba Oyelude praised Obasanjo’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s development, noting that his leadership saw significant GDP growth and national progress.

“Today, I want to congratulate former President Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo, a quintessential persona whose life for the past six decades is deeply woven into Nigeria’s history,” he said.
He highlighted Obasanjo’s pivotal role in the country’s political history, from leading Nigeria after General Murtala Mohammed’s assassination in 1976 to successfully transitioning power to a civilian government in 1979.
“At 88, Baba is still gaining strength and waxing stronger,” he added, extending heartfelt congratulations on behalf of the Olowu Kuta-in-Council.
