Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has said he does not regret stopping the move by the 8th Senate to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari. He was accused to have led thugs to the Chamber to steal the mace in 2018. While reacting to the incident on Thursday during his campaign in Asaba, the All Progressives Congress Delta State governorship candidate stated that he never regretted his action.
He said: “I will never regret my action to shut down the 8th Senate to stop the impeachment of President Buhari. Then, I was the de facto chairman of the Electoral Act, and after concluding our report, Saraki and his cohorts decided to change what we passed and sent to the House of Representatives for concurrent consideration just because they wanted to impeach President Buhari.

Meanwhile, the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has described events leading to Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s governorship candidature for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as good omen for the state. He spoke at the palace of the Orodje of Okpe kingdom, Maj.-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo Orhue I (retd.). He posited that God will use Oborevwori’s governorship to “make a bold statement” in the state if Deltans elect him come 2023.
Uduaghan was on a congratulatory call on the Okpe monarch who recently emerged as Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council. Uduaghan further implored Deltans, especially aggrieved members of the PDP, to accept the Supreme Court’s ruling declaring Oborevwori as the party’s gubernatorial candidate and support him to become governor of Delta State.
