The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has condemned the activities and utterances of Senator Ajayi Boroffice on the affairs of the party in the state.
Rising from a meeting at the weekend at the party’s state secretariat in Akure, the state capital, the State Working Committee (SWC) unanimously described the activities of the senator as “unjustifiable” and “condemnable”.
A statement by the State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Alex Kalejaye, said the party’s highest decision-making organ admonished the Ondo North senator to repent or be sanctioned.
The SWC frowned at the resolve of the senator to keep away from the activities of the party in the state while he allegedly fanned the ember of discord within the fold.
“Senator Ajayi Boroffice cannot remain at large and continue to speak on behalf of the party; he can’t stay away in Abuja or wherever and be dishing out what he thinks his supporters in the ‘Diaspora’ would applaud.
“We must remind the senator that his unholy efforts and strategies in the past to disorganise and destroy the party in Ondo State (to no avail) are still fresh in our memories.
“He has the option to retrace his steps and reconcile with the party or continue to hobnob with those who are surreptitiously expending resources and time to deflate the strength and unity of the state chapter. The latter option would not be condoned by the party.
“Besides, Boroffice has taken to the pages of newspapers lately to deliberately paint the vibrant state chapter in terrible lights. This, without mincing words, is vexatious and unacceptable to the Ondo State APC.”
