Although no case of the Ebola virus disease (EVD) has been recorded in Ondo State, the state government has announced the take off of an infectious disease hospital in the capital, Akure.
The development coincided with the commencement of distribution of EVD prevention materials to public and private schools to allay the fears of parents ahead of the resumption of schools in the state on Monday.
The materials being distributed include auto-dispense sanitizer and inferred thermometer.
Fielding questions from newsmen in his office on government’s efforts to prevent Ebola virus in schools preparatory to resumption for the 2014/2015 academic year on Monday, the Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, said an infectious disease hospital located on Igbatoro Road, Akure was now operational.
