The Osemawe of Ondo, Victor Kiladejo (Jilo III), has assured residents and guests that security will be provided through out the Odun Oba festival, which kicked off yesterday.
In a statement in Abuja by palace spokesman, Chief Wole Benson, the monarch “assured Ondo sons and daughters, well wishers and tourists of their safety as security has been provided.”
He prayed for journey mercy for those coming Ondo for the ceremony

“Following proclamation of activities for the Odun Oba at Idijo ceremony, Oba Victor Kiladejo, Osemawe of Ondo kingdom is set to celebrate this year’s Odun Oba in style.
“The Odun Oba, the king’s festival, marks the anniversary of monarchy in Ondo kingdom. “It dates back to 1510 when the first Osemawe, Oba Pupupu, a female king, ascended the throne.
“Odun Oba spans nine days with activities for each day.
“It also includes presentation of gifts by chiefs to the king and the king greeting his children and family…” the statement added.
