One person was Sunday evening confirmed dead and five critically wounded after after a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) rammed into shops in Lagos.
The accident occurred around 3pm at Amje Bus Stop, Ajegunle, Alagbado, a Lagos suburb.
According to a statement by police spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the black Toyota Highlander with registration number BDG654DC was driven by one Akinola Sulaimon.
He said the driver was moving inward Kola Bus Stop from Tollgate when he suddenly rammed into some shops and caused the death of one Simisola Abedoye.

“Five others were critically injured. The injured victims were immediately taken to the General Hospital, Ota, Ogun State, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of the same hospital for autopsy.
“The driver has been arrested and is in police custody. Efforts are being made to recover the vehicle involved in the crash.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, has directed that a speedy but thorough investigation into the accident be carried out, even as he expresses condolence to the bereaved family of the deceased,” said Ajisebutu.
