One person died on Sunday evening while two others sustained serious injuries when two vehicles collided in Ebonyi State.
The accident, which involved a Mitsubishi truck and a Toyota bus, happened at the Onueke axis of the Abakaliki-Afikpo expressway.
Sources around the area said the accident happened during a heavy downpour in the area.

“Terrible accident just occurred along Abakaliki-Onueke Road, close to Onuzo Nwedu Bus Stop, one casualty was allegedly recorded, the position of other passengers not yet known as of the time of this report, they were rushed to the hospital
“It was gathered that a 911 lorry coming from Onueke collided with an L-300 bus coming from Abakaliki. The accident occurred during the rainfall, and one of the drivers had faulty wipers,” the source said.
State Commandant of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Chukwurah Winifred confirmed the incident.
She said three persons all males were involved in the accident.
According to her, while one person died the two other victims were rescued by officers of the Command and rushed to the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki (AE-FUTHA) for treatment. Ends
