One feared killed in Ife house collapse

A building on More Road, Ile-Ife, Osun State, was late on Saturday night destroyed by suspected explosives.

It is said to house Ebenco Pharmacy.

The Nation learnt that sympathisers allegedly found an unidentified middle-aged man beside the debris in a coma and took him to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife where he died.

A source said the incident occurred around 11p.m.

He said there was a loud noise and a heavy dust.

It was gathered that there was a controversy over the ownership of the house after the death of the owner.

Policemen were on the scene of the collapse last night.

A town planner, Kunle Olagbaju, has called for investigation.

He said the manner the building caved in without a warning was an indication of a security threat that must be prevented in future.
