No fewer than 143 senators and House of Representatives members will be returning to the National Assembly when it is inaugurated in June 2023.
This figure is made up of 33 senators and 110 members of the House of Representatives across the 36 states and the FCT.
Also not less than five serving members of the House of Representatives will be taking their seat in the Senate when the National Assembly is inaugurated.
They are Chief Whip of the House, Mohammed Tahir Mongunu (Borno North), Darlington Nwokeocha (Abia Central), Yemi Adaramodu (Ekiti South), Nasir Sani Zangon Daura (Katsina North), Dandutse Muntari Mohammed (Katsina South).
About 11 states have no single Senator returning to the National Assembly, while Anambra is the only state with a returning member in the House of Representatives.
The states without a returning senator are Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Delta, Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Jigawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Ogun and Ondo.

However, Senator Adeola Olamilekan, who moved from Lagos West to Ogun West, is the only senator returning to the Senate, even though he has not served in the state before.
Among the senators not returning to the National Assembly are Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima and All Progressives Congress (APC) Deputy National Chairman (North), Abubakar Kyari.
All current members of the House of Representatives from Anambra State lost their seats.
About 77 senators and 251 House members will be coming to the Senate and House of Representatives for the first time.
In the House of Representatives, findings revealed that the Southeast has the lowest percentage of members returning to the House with only six members out of the 43 members from the zone, representing 17.5 percent.
The Northwest has the highest number of lawmakers not returning to the House with 70 members losing their ticket, either at the primary or during the general election.
The Southeast has 43 members in the House of Representatives, Southsouth has 55 members, Southwest has 71 members, Northeast has 48, Northcentral has 51 (including the FCT with 2) and Northwest has 92 members.
Only six members are returning to the House from the Southeast, 18 members from the Southsouth, 26 from the Southwest, 17 from Northeast, 20 from Northcentral and 22 from Northwest.
Lagos State has the highest number of returning members, while all the lawmakers from Anambra State lost their seats to the Obidient revolution.
About 15 women made it to the 10th House of Representatives, an increase from 12 in the outgoing 9th Assembly, while only three women made it to the Senate.
