Orits Williki prepares for 40 years on stage at Muson

On Friday, November 11, the Muson center in Lagos will come alive as music maestro, Pupa Orits Williki will celebrate his 40 years on stage.

According to those in the know, the event will be filled with pomp and glee as several music stars are billed to perform and attend.

Also scheduled to attend the ceremony are business leaders, political juggernauts, fashionistas, and society big-wigs.

The celebration will also have the launch of Oritz Williki’s double album – a compilation of the reggae icon’s greatest hits and new songs.

On the new songs, Orits Williki says: “Each time l look at my archive I am stunned. I feel like we haven’t released half of what Jah has deposited inside of me, trust me. You know I’m a multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer so I often produce myself and others with regards to music. I have a large number of unreleased materials that I would be happy to push out as Jah permits. It’s some of my best works yet.”

Williki will also be bestowing legendary awards on 12 notable musicians in Nigeria including Bongos Ikue, King Sunny Ade, Ebenezer Obey, Alhaji Kollington, Onyeka Onwenu, Bright Chimezie, Sir Shina Peters, Alhaja Salawa Abeni, Dr. Tee Mac lseli, Emma Ogosi, and Stella Monye. A posthumous award will also be dedicated to Amb. Osayomore Joseph.
