•Asks Ikpeazu to be generous in victory
The senator representing Abia Central Senatorial District, Senator Theodore Orji, has lampooned members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who left the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), describing them as people without integrity.
Orji said that politics is about integrity which those who have left the PDP for another party just to remain relevant never had, adding that people should learn to be steadfast if they want to progress in life.
Speaking with The Nation in Umuahia after a town hall meeting with members of his senatorial district, Orji said he has never contemplated leaving the PDP for any other party “as there has never been any need for such stupid move.”
In a related development, the immediate past governor of Abia State has called on Governor OkezieIkpeazu to be magnanimous in victory irrespective of what he described as “agonizing campaign of calumny he suffered from the oppositions.”
Orji also praised the aptness of the judiciary, especially the Supreme Court saying their judgments have contributed immensely to the sustenance and preservation of the country’s democracy since 1999.
The former governor’s advice which was contained in a congratulatory message to Ikpeazu, signed by his Media Adviser, Don Norman Obinna, also said, “Those who seek redress in court of law in a perceived ‘injustice’ did nothing wrong as it is their inalienable right to do so.”
