Governor Samuel Ortom has approved the appointment of Dr. Terlumun Nyitse as his new Chief of Staff.

Dr. Nyitse replaces Terwase Orbunde, who resigned preparatory to contesting for the governorship position in the 2023 elections.

Nyitse, started out as a reporter with the defunct Concord newspapers.

He later gained employment into Benue State Civil Service and reached the pinnacle of his career as a permanent secretary.

He resigned and took up another appointment as a lecturer with Biham University.

Nyitse is coming to a familiar terrain, having worked as Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration for eight years under the then, Governor Gabriel Suswam.

The governor also appointed Mrs. Mimi Orubibi as chairman, Benue State Internal Revenue Service (BIRS).

This is the second coming of Mrs .Orubibi as chairman of BIRS. Her first tenure ended in a fiasco, as she was unceremoniously sent packing when Governor Samuel Ortom dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mrs. Orubibi recently dumped the APC for the PDP, in what many see as a behind the scene deal that landed her the plumb job.

Born Benue but married to a Niger-Deltan, it remains be seen if the tax Amazon will bring her wealth of experience to bear on tax collection in Benue to compliment the drastic shortfall in the federal allocation.

Mrs. Orubibi will also have to contend with illegal tax collectors who have made tax collection difficult in the nation’s Food Basket state.
