Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has dismissed speculations linking him to English Premier League (EPL) teams while insisting that he wants to remain with Napoli in the Serie A.

Words are rife that Newcastle United and Arsenal FC are targeting the signature of the Nigerian following his impressive display for Napoli this season.

Writing on his social media page  yesterday before joining the Super Eagles for the all-important Qatar 2022 World Cup play-off, the former Lille of France striker said: “I focus on my passion, the rest are just background noises.”.

For now, Osimhen is focused on Napoli and is doing well for the team netting goals in every match for the Serie A side as he has no intention of quitting the team

Also, former Italian international Christian Vieri has hailed Osimhen’s display in the Serie A despite the criticisms that trailed his record transfer to Napoli from Lille of France. “Do you remember when Osimhen arrived at Napoli, what did they say? Everyone said it was money thrown away, that he didn’t know how to play football, he doesn’t score,” Vieri told Bobo TV.

“I have always said to give him time, now he has become devastating. He goes deep, he holds the ball, unloads it, scores: he’s wonderful,” the former Inter Milan star said

Also, former Napoli striker German Denis described Osimhen as a phenomenal striker.

“Osimhen is a phenomenal striker, he knows how to do everything. He is physically strong, he is fast and knows how to score with his head, it has been a long time since there have been such strikers in Italy. Scudetto? I cheer for Napoli, I hope they have important results this season which is strange given that Inter and Juventus are struggling,” the Reggina star told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli:“
