Rangers international of Enugu have strengthened its squad with the signing of Eneji Otekpa and Isaac Hele Hele, SportingLife can report.
Otekpa and Hele Hele left Kano Pillars and joined Flying Antelopes on a one year deal with an option of renewal based on their performances.
The duo are part of the new players brought in by the Rangers’ technical crew to line up a strong squad for the Glo Premier League 2015/2016 season.
Rangers finished 12th last season and ready to improve on their performance this season.
SportingLife’s scoop at the team’s camp in Benin City revealed that the duo have started training with the rest of the squad, and they have impressed the technical crew with the quality displayed during the training session.
A club top official informed SportingLife that the players’ experience will go a long way to help Flying Antelopes achieve something this season.
“As far as I am concerned we have quality players in our camp right now. We brought in these players like Hele Hele and Otekpa because of their experience in the league. They are quality players and we will gain a lot from them. They are currently training with us in Benin and they have shown readiness to give our team the best. With these quality players Rangers will go places in the league,” a club official told SportingLife.
Hele Hele, a Cameroonian full-back, has previously played for Cottonsport and Esperance de Guider.
Otekpa plays for Mighty Juniors F.C, BCC Lions, Ranchers Bees, Lobi Stars, Enyimba before he joined Kano Pillars last season.
The Gboko-born midfielder was one of five Kano Pillars players injured during an armed robbery incident last year when the club was headings for their 2015 Nigeria Professional Football League opener against Heartland FC.
The 26-year-old star was selected for the Nigerian national team for the first time in a friendly match against South Korea in August 2010, started and played 81 minutes.
