Benue State Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni has been removed.
It was gathered his removal may not be unconnected with exit of the Speaker, Terkimbir Ikyange.
Ikyange was removed by 22 of the 30 member-house.
When The Nation visited the police headquarters, Owoseni’s office was locked but his secretary and other workers were around.
Some policemen were discussing the removal of Owoseni, who many described as a complete officer and gentleman.
Police spokesperson Moses Yamu refused to comment.
Sources also said Owoseni was due to retire this December.
