Panic as another explosion hits Jalingo

Another bomb explosion has hit Jalingo, capital of Taraba barely a month after a similar incident left many dead with several injured.

Barely a month after a bomb blast occurred in Iware community in Ardo-Kola council of Taraba State and killed scores with massive destruction of lives and property, another bomb explosion, Tuesday night, again exploded in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.

The explosion occurred around 9pm a few metres from the military base located in the Jalingo metropolis.

A source told The Nation the explosion came from grenades thrown into the military base by a passerby.

Taraba police spokesman Usman Abdullahi, told The Nation he heard the sound and confirmed that it was an explosion, but could not ascertain if anyone died

He promised to get back with detailef information as soon as they are available to the Command.

As of the time of filing this report, palpable tension has enveloped the state capital.

The explosion was the third of its kind in the State in the last two months.

Apart from the Iware incident, another explosion occurred in Nukkai area of Jalingo city last month.
