After six hours of closed-door meetings with aggrieved members and leaders at Ward 1 of Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, the Ward Leader of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Sunny Nwakaego, has said the meeting achieved its main aim.
Nwakaego said the meeting, which held at his house, was meant to reposition the party and ensure its victory in the January 6 local government election.
The PDP chieftain said party members in the ward showed understanding on the need to have a strong and united political platform to maintain the current drive by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to reposition the state.
He said: “We are pleased with the individual and collective responses and the willingness of the ward members and leaders to build a strong and cohesive front in delivering our candidates on January 6 and ahead of the 2019 general elections.
“Our reconciliation efforts have gone on very well. Our party members and leaders have left nobody in doubt as to their commitment, genuine service and loyalty to the party. They understand that we have no option than to work for the party to be victorious.”
Nwakaego said members were united to do the right things for the area and the state.
