Plateau rakes N1 billion monthly from PLAGIS

The Plateau State Geographic Information System (PLAGIS) is capable of generating N1 billion on a monthly basis when fully utilised, Commissioner for Land Survey and Town Planning, Barrister Festus Fuanter has stated.

He said this during the commissioning of the project at the ministry in Jos yesterday.

Fuanter said: “The PLAGIS is the best of its kind in the country meant for effective and easy land administration and has the capacity to generate N1 billion every month when fully utilised.

“The completion of the project by the APC- led administration with its huge revenue capacity was time for the expansion of the internal revenue base of the state.

“Our projected revenue for the remaining half of the year is put at the region of N5.5 billion monthly. By next year, our revenue projection is to surpass N1 billion monthly mark.”

Fuanter said PLAGIS was one of the numerous projects left uncompleted by the last administration in the state.

The commissioner solicited for the governor’s assistance for training of staff, employment of relevant staff, adequate funding and renovation of local government area offices.

The project was commissioned by the state governor, Simon Lalong, which marked the commencement of 55,000 certificate of occupancy to applicants.
