The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of six suspected cultists allegedly involved in the killing of a Police Constable, Oboh Goodluck, in Amarata community, Yenagoa, the state capital.
Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Mr Francis Idu, also vowed that the key suspect, who was on the run and was believed to be involved in multiple cases of murder, would soon be apprehended.
Idu, who made the vow during a ceremony in honour of the deceased constable yesterday, said the police would ensure that the key suspect and others involved in the killing face justice.
CP Idu said: “The deceased Constable acted within the law to confront and defend the people from harm against seven hoodlums.

“Goodluck Oboh gave his life to save the Bayelsa citizenry. If he had succeeded, he would have beaten his chest that he is a peace keeper.”
He added that a formal request would be sent to Governor Douye Diri to make the site of his killing a monument for him to be remembered.
The representative of the Ayadei/Oboh family, Mr. Kwokwo Robert, while appreciating the authorities of the Nigeria Police for their assistance in the final burial rites of the deceased, called for justice for their son.
