Police arrest suspected killers of bank agent

Eight suspected killers of a bank agent, Sunday Awodiran, have been arrested by police in Ogun State.

Awodiran was stabbed to death at 9:45 p.m. on May 14, at Lambe junction, Alausa Village, Ifo, Ogun State, after his killers robbed him of N200,000 cash, recharge cards and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card on his way home from work.

The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Lukman Taiwo (30), Taiwo Babalola (29), David Gbenga (25), Wasiu Olaegbe (24), Ojo Aliu (30), Taofik Sulaimon (24), Jamiu Taiwo (31) and Igwe Ofosile were arrested on Monday.

He said the suspects confessed they killed Awodiran because he knew them.

Oyeyemi said detectives recovered charms and a toy gun from the suspects

He said: “The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) for discreet investigation and possible prosecution of the suspects.”
