The Imo Police Command has begun investigations into the murder of Mr. Tony Enoch who was Governor Hope Uzodinma’s kinsman.

Enoch, a retired military officer, was the Presidential Campaign Council Chairman for Ahmed Bola Tinubu/Kashim Shettima election in Uzodimma’s Oru East Local Government Area (LGA).

Reports said he was killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in the state.

Speaking on the incident, the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Henry Okoye, said the deceased was shot dead on Tuesday while returning home from APC stakeholders’ meeting in the Omuma area of the LGA.

“It is true; he was shot dead by miscreants suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed group of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“The Commissioner of Police has condemned the attack and ordered the arrest of the assailants. We are currently investigating and on top of the situation,” Okoye said in an interview with a news agency in Owerri.
