Acting Commissioner for Police in Lagos State, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, yesterday said the police would join forces with the Lagos State Citizens’ Mediation Centre (CMC) for faster prosecution of suspects and justice delivery.
Edgal spoke while receiving the management of the CMC led by its Director, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Odusanya, at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
He said: “We are ready to partner with all stakeholders in order to make the state more secure and peaceful for residents and investors. We are deploying community policing while also incorporating informal policing and inclusion of different socio-cultural groups in the State”.
Edgal pledged that many civil cases that should not be handled by the police would be sent to the CMC for “faster and more professional resolution”.
