Police parade three suspected kidnappers of lawmaker’s wife

The Police in Ekiti State on Friday paraded three suspects who participated in the abduction of Mrs. Oyinlola Ajibola, wife of former member of the state House of Assembly, Samuel Ajibola, in October last year.

The suspects, Adeola Ayodele, Rotimi Onileowo and Sunday Koko confessed to the crime which took place on October 8 at the residence of the victim. Three members of the gang are still at large.

Ayodele, who wept profusely during the parade, said they participated in the crime and begged for forgiveness from the victim.

The suspect said he has been praying to God to forgive them for kidnapping the woman.

Narrating her ordeal, Mrs. Ajibola said the suspects stormed the house with five guns, demanding for money which she gave to them before they collected her car key.

The lawmaker’s wife said they warned her to cooperate with them because they were on a mission to kidnap her, adding that they forced her into the car and whisked her away at gunpoint.

She said: “They marched me to the bush where I spent eight days. I was tortured and beaten before I was released after spending eight days in captivity.”

The woman said she was surprised when the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) invited her to come and identify the suspects.

Her husband, Mr. Ajibola, commended the police for eventually arresting his wife’s captors.
