Police probe ‘illegal’ sale of Fasehun family land

The police have launched a probe into the alleged illegal sale of farmland and destruction of economic crops belonging to prominent members of the Fasehun family.

The land belongs to the late founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Dr. Frederick Fasehun, Olufemi Fasehun, an engineer, and Orobola Fasehun, an ambassador.

Three individuals, including a woman, have been questioned in Akure over their involvement in the unauthorised sale of several acres of farmland and destruction of palm trees worth millions of naira.

The Officer-in-Charge, Mr. Sunday Oshodi, recommended that the suspects be charged.

Olufemi Fasehun, in a statement, warned the public against purchasing any land from the trio.

He also urged individuals who may have previously bought land from the suspects to desist from further development and to seek a refund directly from them.

Fasehun stated that the entire family is united in ensuring the suspects are brought to book.

Justice J.O. Abe of the Ondo High Court had ordered all parties to maintain the status quo ante pending the determination of a suit on the ownership and control of disputed land in Ondo City.

The order was made in Suit No. HCOD/33/CIV/202, filed by Mr. Olufemi Olusegun Omoola Fasehun and others (claimants) against Adewunmi Fasehun, Felix Fasehun, Mrs. Clara Ogunsanmi, and others.
