Edo State Police Command said it recovered 120 arms during a mop-up, which lasted one month.
It said five suspects were arrested.
The recovered arms include nine AK 47 rifles, K2 rifle, Beretta rifle, TO6 rifle, 15 pump action guns, seven single barrel guns, two double barrel guns, two cut to size guns, two English pistols, 23 locally-made single barrel guns, 12 locally- made single barrel pistols, six locally-made double barrel guns, 38 Dane guns, 150 love cartridges and G-3 rifle.
Police Commissioner Babatunde Kokumo, who presented the weapons to reporters at the headquarters, said the decision to mop-up arms was in line with the directive of Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris.
He alleged that locally-made guns were manufactured in neighbouring states, adding that efforts are on to arrest the suspects.
Oyo State Police Command said yesterday it had recovered over 1,000 arms and ammunition in parts of the state.
Addressing reporters at Eleyele headquarters, Police Commissioner Mr. Abiodun Odude said some of the arms and ammunition were voluntarily surrendered by their owners, adding that others were recovered from suspected criminals.
The police in Osun State also recovered 86 arms and 88 unexpended cartridges.
Police Commissioner Olafimihan Adeoye, who addressed reporters in Osogbo, said the arms were submitted to the police, adding that others were recovered from suspected criminals.
Ogun State Police Command recovered 1,179 arms and 2,266 ammunition during its mop up of unlawful weapons.
Police Commissione Ahmed Iliyasu listed the arms as 24 AK 47 assault rifles, 66 pump action guns, 1,088 single and double barrel guns, 1,025 rounds of 7.25mm ammunitions and 1,241 cartridges.
Enugu State Police Command has recovered 148 arms.
The Commissioner, Danmallam Mohammed, briefing reporters yesterday, said the efforts of the task force led to the recovery of 155 ammunition and 205 cartridges.
The Police Command in Gombe State said yesterday it had recovered 25 arms from individuals.
It said the recovery was in compliance with an order by the inspector-general of Police directing formations to mop-up illegal arms nationwide.
