Ondo State Police Command said it was in talks with the military authorities with a view to identify the soldier who stabbed a trader to death.
Spokesman for the Ondo Police Command, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, who confirmed the killing of the trader said the culprit would be arrested
The trader, Ezeani Ebuka, aged 27, was reportedly stabbed on Saturday during a fracas.
His colleagues who had shops at the Arakale area of Akure staged a protest demanding justice.
They alleged that the soldiers stormed the area after they were mobilized to forcefully collect some money from a trader he had paid for a service.

It was gathered that an argument ensued which led to a fracas and subsequent stabbing of Ebuka by a yet to be identified soldier.
One of the traders who refused to say his name said the soldiers beat family members of the late trader to coma.
The killing led to protest by the traders who blocked the road demanding justice and arrest of the soldier.
