FULL TIME: Wins for Man United and Leicester City

It is all over. It has been plenty of fine attacking football in the Tuesday English Premier Leagues.

After 90 minutes United remain Manchester City’s biggest threat – and are now five points behind their rivals as Watford lost 2-4 to the Jose Mourinho’s side.

West Brom played 2-2 with Newcastle, while Leicester versus Spurs ended 2-1. There was zno goal at all in the Brighton and Palace game.

GOAL – Watford 2-4 Manchester United

Jesse Lingard (86 mins)

Ridiculous goal.

A tackle, a tackle, my kingdom for a Watford tackle but let’s give credit to the attacker. Jesse Lingard gets the ball well inside his own half and he carries the ball forwards. He’s not got much on and has four Watford defenders around him. Lingard cuts inside Adrian Mariappa and then outside Christian Kabasele and then snakes a slow shot into the corner of the net from 22 yards.

Do we have a real comeback on our hands!

Watford sub Andre Carrillo slams a cross across the face of goal and Abdoulaye Doucore just sticks out a leg and manages to poke/turn it into the net from about 16 yards!

All the pace was on the cross. Can Watford force another one?

Matt Ritchie has a free-kick right on the edge of the area, right-hand side. He doesn’t try and cross it just slams it across goal. Salomon RondonandJonny Evans are both there as the ball deflects into the net. Own goal Evans.

Slotted home easily by Troy Deeney, he sends the keeper the wrong way.

GOAL – Leicester 2-1 Tottenham

What a goal that is, and an assist for Erik Lamela too. Lovely one-touch passing move, Lamela helps it around the corner and Harry Kane just thrashes the ball into the top corner. Shades of Shearer v Netherlands, Euro 96 in that finish.

Took their eye off the ball? A really sloppy goal for West Brom to ship so soon after going 2-0 up. They leave Newcastle captain Ciaran Clarkunmarked from a corner and he thumps a header home from a few yards out.

Sam Field (56 mins)

Get the ball in the box! That’s the West Brom gameplan and it’s worked again. A peach of a ball, from the right this time, Matt Phillips taking out the entire Newcastle backline and the keeper with one deep cross and Sam Field arrives back post to finish left-footed. His first for the club.

It may not be a great match, but West Brom have had the edge in it and in first half stoppage time they grab the lead as Hal Robson-Kanu heads in a Kieran Gibbs cross.
