After series of pitches from various talented entrepreneurs before a jury of experts in the field of health care and innovations, a technological innovation ProNOV created by the Opacus technologies Ltd has emerged as the winner of Merck Accelerator Lagos Satellite Program.
The event which held at Seedspace Lagos on Friday had in attendance the General Manager of Seedspace Lagos and Merck Accelerator Head,Herve Kubwimanna and a host of others.
Seedspace Lagos as the host of the program provided a platform which promotes, connects and invests up to $1.5m in emerging market startups through its exclusive startup competition in 60 countries.
It invited experts in the field of healthcare and life sciences to provide a platform for a group of talented entrepreneurs who pitched to win the chance to collaborate with Merck.
Out of 10 startups that participated in the competition and over 100 that applied, ProNov emerged as the winner.
The technology innovation company which provides inventory management supply chain, digital payment via smartphone for pharmacies won a cash prize of $3000, a fully paid three days trip to Merck Innovation center, Membership of 12 months at Seedspace Lagos, Acess to Merck Innovator Academy and connection with a rich community of founders and innovators in their region.
Speaking to reporters after the event, Damilola Obidairo who represented ProNOV said “we are excited and challenged because there is a lot of work to do for social impact” and “come 2019 we will be able to scale up our activities in Lagos and expand to Ibadan and Kaduna as planned.”
