PRP: we charge N2.5m, N10m for governorship, presidential forms

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has clarified the cost of nomination forms for elective public offices, describing a circular pegging its nomination fees at certain amount as fraudulent.

In a statement in Abuja, the party warned that the fraudulent circular was being peddled “by some duplicitous elements that intend to scam the unsuspecting public.”

The statement, signed by the National Chairman, Alhaji Falalu Bello, said the purported fees are N500,000 and N200,000 for presidential and governorship positions; and N100,000 and N80,000 for Senatorial and House of Representatives; while N70,000 is for House of Assembly seats.

It added: “For the record, this crooked circular does not emanate from the Peoples Redemption Party.  It is the handiwork of mischief makers who are bent on creating confusion, to defraud the unsuspecting public.

“Thus, PRP hereby distances itself from this underhanded shenanigan of the mischief makers sponsored by the enemies of the party.”

Continuing, the statement explained that in compliance with the notice of the 2023 general election released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the PRP on April 16 published guidelines for sale and cost of its forms.

According to the statement, the cost of the nomination forms are “House of Assembly – N100,000; House of Representatives- N250,000; Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – N1,500,000; Governor – N2,500,000 and President
