Walked over in Sunday’s opener, Owena Kings of Ondo who arrived late in Lagos were beaten 23-19 by Confluence Stars in what was their second game of the series.
Yesterday , the rusty Owena Kings were outplayed by the Confluence Stars despite putting up a good fight but were also guilty of missing some scoring chances and were fatigued in the final moments of the game.
Niger United, who are hoping to return to the top of Nigerian Handball, won their second game, beating Benue Buffalos 36-27 but still have to contend with Kano Pillars and Safety Shooters for the top prize.
Tojemarine Academy, who defeated Lagos Seasiders in Sunday’s derby, also walked over Kada Stars to get 10 goals and three points.
In the women’s category, Safety Babes defeated Plateau Peacock 23-21 in a keenly contested tie, which could gone either way. However, Safety Babes did enough to win the game. Also, Defender Babes walked over Adorable Angels, who are yet to show up in Lagos for the second phase of the league.
