Niger United Handball Club of Minna, Confluence Stars, Seasider Babes of Lagos, Defender Babes began with wins in the second phase of the 2022 Prudent Energy Premier Handball League which began yesterday at the University of Lagos sport Hall.
In the men’s category, experienced Niger United who began this phase in the third position, defeated Police Machine 30-23 in a keenly fought contest.
Confluence Stars also edged Benue Buffalos 30-21 with a dominant display to claim maximum points.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s category, Seasider Babes dug deep into their arsenal as they beat Imo Grasshoppers 19-18 as both sides were guilty of missing glaring scoring chances.
Also, Defender Babes beat Plateau Peacock 27-23to the admiration of their fans at the venue.

However, four games were decided by walk over as leaders Kano Pillars and Safety Shooters respectively walked over Kada Stars and Owena Kings in the men’s category while in the women’s category, Rima Queens and Safety Babes secured walked over Adorable Angels of Kwara and Kada Queens respectively.
In tomorrow’s games, Owena Kings will take on Confluence Stars, Safety Babes will battle Plateau Peacocks, Niger United lock horns with Benue Buffalos, Seasider Babes take on Rima Queens, Kada Stars square up against Tojemarine Academy while Defender Babes take on Adorable Angels.
In other games, Lagos Seasiders will take on Safety Shooters, Benue Queens will take on Kada Queens, Rima Striker play Kano Pillars, Bendel Dynamos battle Imo Grasshoppers while D.Defenders take on Police Machine.
