Former Nigeria under 20 midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has told the official website of his team, mountaintopfc.com that the survival of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) remains number one on his mind ahead of the forthcoming La-Liga tour slated to begin on August 10, 2016.
The midfielder along with teammate, Sikiru Olatunbosun made the final 25-man NPFL All-Star team that will represent Nigeria in this year’s Trofoe Carranza tournament in Spain.
Ifeanyi expressed his gratitude to the League Management Company (LMC) for organising the tour while speaking to the clubs media team. He stated that he’s going to Spain thinking about how he can play his role on return to Nigeria to keep MFM FC in the elite division and to also justify his inclusion in the team that will fly Nigeria’s flag in Spain ahead of every other gain.
“I feel very great, happy and honoured to be selected for the La Liga tour and also to represent Nigeria once again on the international scene because it’s not easy to be selected from the league of 20 teams and to make the final 25-man squad, I give glory to God.
“The number one thing on my mind going for the La Liga tour is to put up a great performance and then come back home to help MFM FC remain in the NPFL. This is not to say I am not going to put Nigeria first because we are going there to represent the country. I will do all I can and I hope that God will crown our efforts as a team,” he remarked.
The NPFL All-Star team will play their first match of the Trofoe Carranza tournament against EUFA Champions League and La Liga runners up, Athletic Madrid on August 12.
