Pwajok’s burial November 13

The family of the late Senator Gyang Pwajok has announced that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in April 11 election will be buried on November 13 in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

A statement yesterday in Jos by Mr Samuel Pwajok, the deceased’s elder brother announced the burial arrangement.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the senator died in India on October 29.

The statement thanked Nigerians for mourning with the family but cautioned against “wild rumours” that could aggravate the sad moments for the family, relatives and friends.

The statement expressed shock at the speculations that the deceased donated an organ of his body to an unnamed recipient in the state.

It added: “We want to clear this rumour and declare that it is utterly false and unfounded. There was never a time such a donation was requested for, much less acceded to.

“The family wants to emphasise that our son died of heapatocellula carninogen and at no time donate any organ to anyone.

“As Christians, we believe in the will of God and continue to submit to His will.”

The statement also expressed shock at the speculations that the deceased’s mother collapsed and died on learning of the senator’s death.

It said the mother was hale and hearty in the family house at Du, urging those in doubt to visit and commiserate with her over the incident.

The statement added: “At painful a moment like this, the family needs the prayers and support of everyone to overcome the effect of the loss.

“But the pain would be worsened, if such rumours continued because they hurt a lot and add to the apprehension.”
