The Directorate for Politics and Governance created within Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) ahead of the 2023 general election may cause division within the church, Apostle Matthew Oluwajoba has warned.
The cleric who is the General Overseer of Christ United Ministries International and City Changer, Osogbo, Osun State gave the warning during a programme organized for over 200 Osogbo residents at Oke-Ayepe area on Saturday.
Oluwajoba admonished that churches must encourage members to participate in politics with a godly mind and pray earnestly for good leaders like a father to emerge among them rather than creating a department within the church.

He said “The move of Redeem Christian Church of God in creating a Directorate of Politic within its fold, I am not going to support that because we don’t have a single party in church but several of them, so if a directorate is created in the church it might lead to division. What the church should do is to encourage members to participate in politics, pray for the best and admonish members. I will support Christians to be in power.”
