Reconcile warring APC factions in Abia, says forum

APC

Ukwa/Ngwa All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has urged the party’s national leadership to reconcile warring factions in Abia State.

It called for convocation of a reconciliatory committee to end divisions in the state chapter of APC.

The group believes the  party’s dismal performance in the elections in Abia was due to irreconcilable differences among the leadership.

It called for nomination of an Ukwa/Ngwa indigene of Old Aba Zone as minister in the incoming Bola Tinubu administration .

The forum issued a  communique after its first quarterly meeting at Abia Hotels in Aba, signed by Chairman, Chika Uhuaba, and Secretary Dr Nnaemeka Otagburuagu.

It reads: “That the national leadership of the party should  convoke a reconciliatory committee in Abia State to engender genuine reconciliation of all factions, the group having observed that the dismal performance in the state in the election was as a result of irreconcilable differences among the leadership.

“Membership of the reconciliatory committee shall be composed of  old and younger breed politicians, contrary to the hitherto position where old breed politicians based outside the state are appointed to positions without impacting on the grassroots.

“An Ukwa/Ngwa indigene of Old Aba Zone should be nominated/recommended for ministerial slot for Abia State upon the inauguration of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu on May 29, as the above accords with equity and fairness, an Ukwa/Ngwa indigene having not been appointed minister under APC led government.

“The reward system observed by the party whereby those who openly worked against the party’s interest during elections/electioneering are rewarded with plumb and juicy positionsappointments should be discouraged by the leadership of the party.”
