The Tinubu Support Organisation in Ekiti State has called on the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu to reward those who work for his victory at the February 25 general election with political appointments. The Patron of the group, Dr. Adebayo Orire, who made the appeal while addressing newsmen on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, said Tinubu should consider competence, hard work, commitment and loyalty as the prerequisite for dispensing political patronage.
Orire stated that Tinubu rather than just giving appointments to those who were indifference to his presidential ambition should compensate those who worked tirelessly to ensure a resounding victory in building trust for the future. He contended that there was no better time than now for the President-elect to reward members of the group in Ekiti for their commitment to his course despite the alleged persecution and victimisation from the party hierarchy.
Orire recalled how members of the group were allegedly maltreated and labeled enemies for supporting him, saying they have done so much for Tinubu, therefore, they should be appreciated. He noted that the group made enough contribution to the party success in the election much better than the “enemies pretending to be loyal lieutenant”, adding that they must harvest the fruits of their labour.
“This is a democracy. It is not Tinubu alone that will be there. Other individuals will be appointed into several positions for him to run government smoothly. And here in TSO, Ekiti state chapter, we have array of highly qualified, competent and willing people that could be appointed. So, we expect the president-elect to look our way, most especially that we faced preponderance of man-made challenges including victimisation, discrimination, persecution, and hunting when we were doing his work.
