Leading Nigerian film practitioners, Rex Nosa, Lancelot Imasuen, and Linda Osifo have arrived in Benin, Edo State for the maiden edition of the Edo State International Film Festival.
The maiden edition of the film festival kicked off on Thursday, September 1 at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub and Kada cinemas.
The four-day festival with the theme, Edo To The World, began with the screening of a gender-based violence short film that was produced by Bode Ashiyan under the auspices of the Edo state first lady, H.E. Betsy Obaseki. The film declared the festival opened while other films began screening in different halls.
In attendance were Lancelot Imasuen, Kabat Esosa Egbon, Dare Ukinebo, Davidson Izegaegbe, Pat Oghre Imobhio, Cleopatra, Latasha Ngwube, and Imade Osawaru amongst several others.
ESIFF is a collaboration between Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), Swiss Development Corporation SDC, and the Nigerian German Cooperation implemented by the GIZ.
