The Rotary Club of Akute, District 9110, Akute, Ogun State has commissioned a block of three classrooms at Zion African Church School, Otun, Akute, Ogun State.
According to the President of the Club, Kameel Adebayo, the project cost the club about N11.5 million.
Adebayo, while handing over the building which he described as ‘Star Project,’ singled out his colleagues and executive members of the club for special recognition. “I want to thank the President that laid the foundation stone of the project which incidentally, the chairman of the commissioning ceremony; PP Adigboluja. You saw the future and you aligned with the reality of the future. I need to appreciate our brother who nominated the school and project for consideration by the president; PP Debo Soeatan. I’m very happy today that the work he nominated or suggested is now a reality today.”
He enjoined the community to take adequate care of the building.
Adebayo, who is fondly called the Change Maker President, further disclosed that Access Bank had agreed to complete another building in the school, including the provision of a borehole and the construction of toilets for the school.

Interestingly, he recounted that in completing the project, funding was a challenge adding that the Club had to source funds privately to complete the project.
Adebayo thanked his colleagues and past presidents for their support.
Also speaking, the past D-G of Rotary Club District 9110, Rtn. Bola Oyebade, while commending Rotary Club for the commissioning of the building project challenged the management of the school to take good care of the building.
He noted that there was still so much to be done for the school, adding that the community should ask more from Rotary. “Rotary can do far more than this. Ask them. The only reason they are in the Rotary Club is to assist those who do not have enough. And if they ask you too, contribute,” Oyebade said.
He said it was impossible for everybody to attend highbrow school but if they could make use of the Zion African Church School, everybody would want to come to the institution.
He, therefore, enjoined everybody to support education as the government cannot do it alone.
The elated community while showing appreciation presented some gifts to the Club.
The well-attended event had Inner Wheel members of Rotary Club, traditional rulers, community leaders, students, teachers, and parents in attendance.
