Sanwo-Olu inaugurates four road networks in Amuwo Odofin

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inaugurated four reconstructed road networks in Amuwo Odofin Local Government.

He urged traditional rulers to preserve land for future infrastructure development.

The newly reconstructed roads are Irede Road, Old Ojo Road (Phase One), Navy Town Road and Mumuni Adio Road (Buba Marwa).

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mojisola Meranda, traditional rulers and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sanwo-Olu said the roads would serve as key links to Lagos Blue Line Rail on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway and water transport jetties.

He added: “These are four strategic roads that have changed the face of Oriade, Amuwo and Ojo. The first one is Irede Road, which has been completed up to Irede Jetty.”

The governor advised residents to take ownership of the roads and avoid activities that could damage the infrastructure.

He warned against dumping refuse on highways, saying offenders would be penalised.

Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to extending the Old Ojo Road project into its second phase, from Maza Maza Bus Stop to Mile 2.

“We are determined to deliver more projects in this council area,” he said.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola, highlighted the benefits of the completed roads.
