Sanwo-Olu seeks prayers for leaders

Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has urged Muslims to continue to pray for the country and its leaders to enable them succeed in the task of providing leadership under the challenging situation the nation now found itself.

Governor Sanwo-Olu spoke during the Ramadan Lecture organized by Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADSN), Lagos State Council at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

Sanwo-Olu who was represented at the event by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi added that Muslims should seek the face of Allah and renew their faith by showing love and brotherliness to one another.

The governor stressed that it is important for everyone to continue to create a conducive environment for religious tolerance and harmony in the society adding that Nigerians should not allow the spirit of Shai’tan to take over the country.

Sanwo-Olu noted that Lagos State remains the number one location of choice for investors and tourists in the nation and the only way it can retain the position is to ensure that peace continue reign in the State.

He, therefore, commended the religious leaders for their continuous efforts and admonitions in ensuring that people continue to live in peace despite the difference in religion and opinions.

Chief Missioner, Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas, Sheikh Abdur-Rahman Ahmad, urged everyone to make amendments and take stock of all their deeds and seek for forgiveness of their sins from Allah before it gets too late.

He added that the night will certainly fall for everyone as it is inevitable for everyone to taste death.

He admonished that everyone should evaluate the essence of their creation and how far they have gone in achieving the purpose of their existence before it gets darker.

He implored Muslims to shun negative behaviors and social vices and sought the face of Allah genuinely before it gets too late as “no one should die as sinners”.

Lagos State Council Chairman Ansar-ud-Deen Society Nigeria, Alhaji Abd’Rahman Salaudeen, stressed the benefits of Ramadan as very enormous and encouraged everyone to strive in the cause of Allah to grasp the ample opportunity therein.

He added that all Muslims should always remember the traits and dependence upon Allah as it leads to humility, reverence, piety and selflessness.

“Let us assist one another to with foods, money and all other items needed to make fasting easy” he said.
