Sanwo-Olu to youths: cooperate with security agencies

Babajide-Sanwo-olu

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has admonished youths to cooperate with security agencies so the common goal of securing lives and property can be achieved.

Sanwo-Olu spoke yesterday at Alimosho Local Government Area of the state when he opened and handed over a building to the Department of State Service (DSS).

The governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, said the ultimate goal of his administration is to ensure Lagos becomes one of the top places on the African continent to live, work and invest. He reiterated that one of the sincere assurances of his administration is to work to create the right environment which guarantees security and safety of lives and property.

According to the governor, the building is to provide conducive office accommodation for the DSS, adding that it is equipped with necessary furniture and facilities, including remand rooms, kitchenettes, registry, conference room, as well as two and one-bedroom en-suite living quarters.

He added: “My advice for the youths is to shun violence. This edifice, which we are opening today, will provide greater security to Alimosho and its axis. This administration has been working closely with security agencies to raise the bar of governance, which includes ensuring a well secured and safe environment for investment and other socio-economic activities to thrive.

“We strongly believe that investment in security must be prioritised because security and welfare of the people remain the primary duty of any government.”

Director of the DSS state command, who was represented by the Deputy Director (Administration), Adebisi Akinloye, thanked the government for the gesture and assured the governor it will be adequately utilised and properly maintained.

State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Cornelius Ojelabi urged the electorate to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) so they can participate actively in the 2023 elections.

He also drummed support for the election of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the president and the re-election of Governor Sanwo-Olu.
