Controversial BBNaija Season 7 winner, Josephina Ijeoma Otabor also known as Phyna has shared her opinion on the origin of bitter leaf soup.
Bitter Leaf Soup, also known as Ofe Onugbu, is a popular Nigerian soup peculiar to the Igbo tribe of Eastern Nigeria.
A lot of non-Igbos shy away from bitter leaf soup because they think that, true to it’s name, it is a very bitter soup.
But in reality, the soup doesn’t taste bitter in the slightest as the eaves have to be thoroughly washed to get rid of the bitterness before it’s added.

Expressing her thoughts on the origin of the soup, the hypepriestess supposed it was discovered as a result of ‘sapa’ a slang that loosely translates as abject poverty in English language.
“If nor be sapa, how normal person go discover bitter leaf soup,” she tweeted.
