BENUE State governor, Samuel Ortom, yesterday, revealed the secret of his rise from humble beginning to his current status in life. He made the disclosure while testifying at the 2016 Africa Convention of the Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International, holding at the Abuja national stadium.
The governor stated that he derived his recipe for success or failure in life to the Biblical book of Job:11 and 12 and decided to comply with the provisions of verse 11 which has attracted God’s mercy, grace and blessings on his life. He attributed his successes in private and public undertakings to divine intervention, and vowed to serve God as long as he lived.
According to him, his emergence as governor was one of the many miracles that God had performed in his life since he came in contact with the Lord Jesus Christ in 1979. Governor Ortom stated that from personal experience he found it more profitable to serve God rather than traditional idols and urged the people to worship God whole heartedly because He was faithful in fulfilling his promises.
He stated that since he dedicated the state to God it has benefited from divine help including reduction in crime and other positive developments. The governor expressed appreciation to the fellowship for what he described as its great contribution to the growth of his Christian life, especially through the inspiring testimonies at their meetings and urged them to remain steadfast in their commitment.
