Security forces rescue wife of NSCDC top officer

The kidnapped wife of the Head, Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’SSIS), DCC Appollos Dandaura, Mrs Dandaura Victoria Apollos, has been rescued unhurt,  The Nation has learnt.

Mrs Appollos was abducted by gunmen in her home in Lafia,  Nasarawa state on  Wednesday.

The spokesman of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,  Olusola Odumosu confirmed that Mrs Appollos has been rescued.

He said she was rescued by a combined team of Security forces at about 9.20 pm on Friday in Lafia.

She was rescued unhurt after a successful joint operation by a combined tactical component comprising the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad (CG’S SIS), NSCDC Counter Terrorism Operatives (CTU), and NSCDC Special Female Squad (SFS) in collaboration with the Nigerian Army (NA), Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF),  Odumosu said in a statement.

His younger brother, ASC1 Ezekiel Dandaura Samu, personnel of the Corps serving in Nasarawa State Command who sustained gunshot injuries in the cause of the attack is still receiving treatment in a hospital facility and is in stable condition, Odumosu added.

He said the Commandant General, NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, expressed appreciation for the efforts, maximum support, and cooperation of sister security agencies rendered in this rescue operation.

He assured the general public that the Corps under his watch will continue to protect lives, properties, and all critical national and infrastructure in the country.
