‘Share ideas that will assist govt’

Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, has urged procurement agencies and Bureau of Public Procurement on the need to share ideas to assist governments in resource management.

Muri-Okunola, represented by Permanent Secretary in the Office of Head of Service, Mrs. Olasunkanmi Oyegbola, spoke during a visit to his office by chief executive officers of public procurement agencies from five states.

He said: “I enjoin Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) to facilitate ideas and knowledge-sharing, networking and synergy among public procurement agencies to assist the government in efficient resource management…”

Director General of Lagos State Public Procurement Agency, Mr. Fatai Onafowote, said: “The agency will share its experience in public procurement with procurement agencies of other states.”

Project Coordinator, NGF State Fiscal Transparency, Accountability and Sustainability Technical Assistance, Mr. Solomon Affun, urged states to integrate more ministries, departments and agencies into their e-procurement platforms.
