The General Manager of Shooting Star Football Club, Alh. Rasheed Balogun has said that the club would raise N50 million in the first year from the fans base initiative they would be lauched.
Balogun who spoke yesterday while addressing journalists at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga Ibadan, said success of any club is tied to the strength of its fan-base.
According to him, Shooting Stars club have therefore decided to start this journey of putting in place a fan base that would enable the supporters play a more effective role in the affairs of its darling team.
“The fan base is a project that would not discriminate. It’s going to be both the mighty and the small to be renewed every season. It will be in three categories. The gold will be for N50,000, silver N20,000 and bronze N5,000.
“The formal launch of the fan base will go a long way in re-establishing the Shooting Stars as pace setters as far as football administration is concerned in Nigeria, because the club will now stand as the only club to have decided to take the bull by the horn with this concept,” Balogun said.
He added that as a means of increasing the their revenue, they have also effected some minimal increase in gate fees. “It is going to be N1,000 for State box, N500 covered seat, and popular side N200.
“The achievement of the just concluded season is to us just a stepping stone. It has proved to us that with better planning, good financial bas, we stand a chance of contending for the title next season and that is why we have decided as a first step, to take the club and game to the owner,” the Shooting Stars General Manager said.
