Sijibomi Ogundele is one man that has consistently and continued to blow his own trumpet to high heavens over his achievements in life – especially on the real estate scene in Nigeria.
The 41-year-old moneybag is the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Construction Limited, a one-stop solution provider in real estate and hospitality.
He’s as daring as audacious in his business moves and has continued to rise in many of his business endeavours in Nigeria, South Africa, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Currently, three of his luxurious projects are ongoing inside highbrow Banana Island. The projects namely Lucrezia, Leonardo and the S-Hotel are undergoing construction with completion dates set between 2023 and 2025.
The S-Hotel, an 80-unit of 10 floors building, is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2023. In the same vein, the 14-floor Lucrezia luxurious apartments are scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2023 while Leonardo, 33-floor residential luxury apartments, are scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2025.
However, the sad incident that saw a seven-storey collapsing inside Banana Island on Wednesday, April 12, has seen the Lagos State government ordered a stop of work on all sites.
The Lagos State government moved swiftly to forestall a future occurrence by ordering a stop to further construction of all buildings within the estate.
This order has seen Sujimoto’s Lucrezia, Leonardo and S-Hotel stopping work while Lagos State Building Control Agency LASBCA carry out further Impact assessment tests on existing buildings under construction.
Interestingly, while some of the real estate developers working in the estate are running helter to skelter, Sujimoto’s boss, Ogundele remains unfazed. It is believed that Sujimoto follows a global standard and practice in all of the company’s construction. Ogundele, even bragged that the same standard which is applicable to his projects in South Africa and Dubai is equally applied to constructing luxurious projects in Nigeria.
